Hey! It’s Prachi, as a Garhwali. I love exploring the diversity, mythology, regional culture, and more of the Uttarakhand temple. Over the years, I’ve visited many ancient temples, not only the famous temples in Uttarakhand, but also the hidden gems.
Through this blog, I aim to share the complete Uttarakhand temple list for 2026, along with their significance, legends, and travel insights for devotees and explorers alike.
About Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand, “The Land of Gods”, is often known as the Dev Bhoomi in northern India. Popular for its spiritual significance, striking vistas of the Himalaya, and rich diversity. Uttarakhand is composed of two regions known as Garhwal (Kedarkhand) and Kumaon (Manaskhand).
These two regions together form the Devbhoomi, an Indian state. Both regions consist of the ancient Uttarakhand Temple, including the Char Dham temples in Garhwal and the Nanda Devi temple in Kumaon.
Facts About Uttarakhand, India
Let’s explore the Uttarakhand Temple, including Char Dham, Panch Kedar, Panch Badri, and the Shakti temple with me as your personal guide. I’m going to describe to you, from the Uttarakhand temple name list, architecture, and history, everything you need to know.

Uttarakhand Temple (Architecture And Style)
The Uttarakhand Temple map is not limited to spirituality; rich diversity embraces this place even more. The temples in Uttarakhand are dedicated to Shaiva, Vaishnava, and Shakta.
Uttarakhand Temples often reflect a rich history, nature-aligned, and spiritually intense.
1) Katyuri Style
Katyuri style of architecture blends the northern Nagara style with a tall, slender, curvilinear shikhara, made with massive stone blocks. Interlocking stone without mortar signifies the craftsmanship and harmony with the Himalayas. Seen beautifully at Jageshwar Dham and Baijnath Temple.
2) Gupta Influence
Gupta architecture has been blooming since India’s golden age. The earliest structures. Known for a simple and flat sanctum (Shikhara) and meditative spaces. This architectural style focuses on the inner spiritual experience, with a plain exterior and sacred geometry guiding worship. Seen in places like Jageshwar, Baijnath, and Almora.
3) Pahadi Style
Pahadi architecture is made with a focus on a sustainable, climate-responsive style using local wood (deodar) and stone for a strong pagoda-like roof, thick walls, tiered structure to resist heavy snowfall, rainfall, and climate changes. Uttarakhand temple on the mountain showcases the deep connection with the Himalayan environment.
