Kedarnath and Badrinath Temple Opening and Closing Dates
As both Kedarnath and Badrinath temples are located at a higher altitude it get covered by snow during the winter season. This makes the region inaccessible for devotees.
The temple remains open just for six months in a year. Currently it is closed, but the Kedarnath temple is expected to open on 22 April 2026, while the Badrinath temple is expected to open on 24 April 2026 and will remain open till mid of November.
You can get your package booked for any date between these months. If you need more details, you can refer to our blog on the Kedarnath opening and closing dates or the Badrianth opening and Closing date.
Or just give us a call, and our executive will get all your doubts before booking your package.
Do Dham Yatra Best Time to Visit
This year temple will remain open from late April to mid-November. So you can plan your journey anytime between this period. Most of the devotees prefer to visit here in the month of May or June as it is the most ideal time for the Do Dham Yatra.
So if you are travelling with family, especially elderly people, kids or women, then May will be the best time for you to get your package booked. But as this is idle time, during this time our seat availability is very limited, and it fills very fast.
If you are a youngster and love to travel in a less crowded but chill climate, then prefer to book your package for the month of September, October or November.
Just avoid July and August, as during this time, the Kedarnath and Badrinath regions experience heavy rainfall, causing a danger of road blockage, landslides, floods, thunderstorms, etc.
Do Dham Yatra Registration Process
Yatra registration is one of the most important and mandatory steps for the Do Dham Yatra. To ensure a smooth experience, we prioritize completing the registration as early as possible.
Within 48 hours of your successful booking, one of our representatives will contact you and assist with completing your registration.
There are two types of registrations:
-

-
Foreign Nationals
Registration for Indian Nationals
If you are an Indian national, you only need to share your Aadhaar card number along with some basic details, such as:
-

Emergency contact person’s name
-
Relationship with the emergency contact person
Once your Aadhaar number is entered on the official registration portal, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar. You will need to share this OTP with our executive to complete the registration.
That’s it — your registration will be successfully generated and the registration certificate will be shared with you.
Important Note:
Registration is done individually, and each participant must share the OTP received on their registered mobile number.
If you are not comfortable sharing the OTP, please inform our executive. They will guide you step-by-step so you can complete the registration on your own.

-
A copy of your passport

A passport-size photograph
Once we receive these details, we will complete the registration on your behalf, and the registration certificate will be shared with you.
How to Reach Haridwar to Join Our Do Dham Yatra Package
Although you can join our Do Dham Yatra package from both Haridwar and
Rishikesh, Haridwar is considered the most convenient starting point.
Known as the Gateway to the Gods, Haridwar is one of the best-connected cities in
Uttarakhand and can be easily reached by train, air, and road.
Haridwar has its own major railway station, Haridwar Junction, and the nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun), located about
38 km away.
How to Reach Haridwar by Train
Reaching Haridwar by train is one of the most convenient options. The city enjoys excellent
rail connectivity with major Indian cities. If there is no direct train from your location,
you can take a connecting train from New Delhi Railway Station.
You may also consider nearby stations such as Yog Nagri Rishikesh or Roorkee, which are located close to Haridwar.
- Most convenient trains from Delhi: Shatabdi Express and Jan Shatabdi Express
- Daily train availability from major metros
Pro Tips:
- Reach Haridwar at least one day before your journey for proper rest.
- Book accommodation near Haridwar Railway Station for easier transfers.
- Haridwar station offers dormitory and AC waiting hall facilities for short rest.
Nearest Airport to Haridwar
The nearest airport to Haridwar is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun,
situated approximately 38 km away. From the airport, taxis, shared cabs,
autos, and government buses are readily available.
Due to limited flight connectivity, you may not always find direct flights to Dehradun.
In such cases, flying to Delhi and continuing the journey by road or train
is often a more economical option.
Pro Tips:
- Flight fares to Dehradun can be high due to limited availability.
- If landing at Jolly Grant Airport, pickup from Rishikesh is often more convenient.
How to Reach Haridwar by Road
Haridwar is well-connected by national highways and regular bus services.
From Delhi, buses are available from ISBT Kashmiri Gate,
including both Volvo and Uttarakhand government buses.
If you are driving from Delhi, the most commonly used route is:
Delhi → Ghaziabad → Meerut → Muzaffarnagar → Roorkee → Haridwar
The total distance is approximately 220 km and the journey takes around
5–6 hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions.
Essential Tips for Do Dham Yatra (Kedarnath & Badrinath)
-
Before planning your Do Dham Yatra, consult your family doctor for a basic health check-up, especially if you have breathing issues, heart conditions, or recent surgeries.
-
Always follow the instructions given by your tour guide and local authorities. This ensures safety and helps you complete the journey comfortably.
-
Carry a reusable water bottle and sip water regularly to stay hydrated, especially during high-altitude travel and trekking.
-
Keep energy bars, dry fruits, or chocolates with you to maintain energy levels during long road journeys and treks.
-
Carry all important documents such as Aadhaar card, registration slip, and medical prescriptions in a waterproof pouch for easy access.
-
Do not litter on the trekking routes. Collect all waste in a small bag and dispose of it only in designated dustbins to help preserve the fragile Himalayan ecosystem.
-
Smoking and alcohol consumption are strictly prohibited during the Do Dham Yatra. They reduce stamina and can cause serious breathing issues at high altitudes.
