Vasuki Tal lake is one of the most devine lake located near Kedarnath Temple, Uttarakhand. Located at an altitude of 14200 feet above the sea level, Vasuki tak is famous for it’s marvelous location. Some of the rare plants like Brahmakamal and other himalayan herbs and flowers bloom in this location. This lake got it’s name on the name of Vasuki snake found around the neck of lord shiva. Structure of lake is of a snake so it got it’s name on the name of lord Shiva’s most faviourite snake. As per the holy scriptures, it is believed that lord vishnu takes bath in this pristine lake every year on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. It’s also believed that Vasuki snake can also be seen in this lake on the occasion of Nag Panchmi and Shivratri. Jolly grant airport or Dehradu airport is the nearest airport to Vasuki tal. Many well known flight operator have direct flights from your home city to Jolly Grant airport. Nearest international airport to Vasuki tal is ndra Gandi International (IGI) airport.
Rishikes is the nearest airport to Vasuki tal trek but, you will not get any direct train from your city to Rishikesh.You can book your train to Haridwar or Dehradun.
You can get luxury bus service from New Delhi or near by cities to Haridwar / Rishikesh or Dehradun. After reaching Dehradun you have three options, first is to book your personal cab which will take you to Sonprayag and will take you back. As this cab will always stay with you so it would be bit costly. Next option is to take a share cab that will only drop you to Sonprayag. This will be convenient as well as economical. Third option is to take a bus from haridwar to Sonprayag or guptkashi directly. This will not be so comfortable but it would be in your budget.
