Hi, I’m Partiksha from Delhi! I’m truly passionate about travelling, trekking, and camping. Since I usually have limited leave, I prefer short weekend trips. During the Diwali holidays, I planned a quick trip to Kedarnath Temple from Delhi.
On Day 1, I boarded an overnight Volvo bus from Delhi to Haridwar.
On Day 2, I travelled from Haridwar to Sonprayag and stayed overnight there.
On Day 3, I trekked from Sonprayag to Kedarnath and offered prayers at the sacred temple.
On Day 4, I started early from Kedarnath, returned to Rishikesh, and then took an overnight bus back to Delhi.
It was indeed a tight and hectic schedule, but totally worth it! If you have more time, you can plan a smoother and more relaxed itinerary. In this guide, I’ll also share different travel options on how to reach Kedarnath from Delhi to help you plan your journey better.
Introduction
There are many sacred destinations in India, and Uttarakhand is one of them. The well-known Char Dham yatra circuit in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand is known as the Journey of Salvation. It comprises the four sacred shrines: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. These four shrines complete the Char Dham Yatra circuit.
Today, we are about to give a glance at how to visit Kedarnath from Delhi to help the pilgrims who are planning a Kedarnath tour from Delhi. First, let's take an overview of the sacred Kedarnath temple.
About Kedarnath Temple–

The popular Kedarnath Dham is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 feet). Kedarnath is not just a part of the sacred Char Dham yatra but is also known as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India and the Panch Kedar temples.
Kedarnath holds great religious significance among devotees of Lord Shiva. Legends hold that the Pandavas came to Kedarnath to atone for their sins after the Mahabharata. They cleansed their sins here by performing rituals.
