New Delhi is well connected from all means of transport and you can reach ISBT Kashmiri gate from any part of the world very easily. In this section we are going to discuss how to reach Rishikesh or Chopta on your own.
How to Reach Rishikesh
To join us from Rishieksh, you need to reach Nepali Farm at Rishikesh before 6:00 AM. It's recommended to reach Rishikesh one day before the trek start day so that last minute delays and inclonviniences can be avoided. Rishikesh don't have it's own airport, but the nearest airport, Jolly Grant airport Dehradn is located at just a distance of 26 kms from Nepali farm.
By Road
Rishikesh is one of the well-connected cities of Uttarakhand, and reaching here by road is both convenient and scenic. If you are coming from Delhi, it is a drive of 270 km and will take around 7 to 8 hours to reach there. The most convenient route is Gadiabad, Meerut, Muzzaffarnagar, Roorkee, Haridwar and then Rishikesh. Volvo and government buses are very regular on this route, which you can take from ISBT Kashmirigate, which runs both during the Day and Night.
If you are coming from Haridwar, then it is just at a distance of 45 km and will take around 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the traffic volume. You can take a local bus, shared autos or taxis from Haridwar to reach Rishikesh
Dehradun is located at a distance of just 45 km from Rishikesh, and it will take around 1 hour to reach Rishikesh. The route will pass through a beautiful scenic forest area. You can get a shared taxi from the Rispana bridge taxi stand, which will drop you directly to the Nepali farm at Rishikesh.
By Air
If you are planning to reach Rishikesh by Air, then we have two options: one is to fly directly to the Dehradun Airport, and the second is to fly to Delhi Airport and then reach Rishikesh by Train or Bus. So let's discuss each option one by one.
Fly directly to Dehradun Airport
One of the most convenient ways to reach Rishikesh is to fly directly to the Dehradun Airport (Jolly Grant Airport), which is just 25 km from the Nepali farm bus stand. This airport is well-connected to most of the major cities of India, and you may get a direct or connecting flight to this airport. But in most cases, the flight ticket gets very costly in comparison to the flight ticket to Delhi. So if you have a budget constraint, or getting a flight very costly for Dehradun then you can go for the next option.
Fly to Delhi
One of the most famous and economical means to reach Rishikesh is to take a flight to Delhi (IGI Airport) and continue the rest of the journey by road or rail. The most convenient way is to take a flight, which can drop you at IGI in the evening, then you can take a bus or train for an overnight journey.
How to reach ISBT Kashmiri Gate from the airport
Although you can take a taxi directly to the Kashmiri Gate Bus stand or New Delhi Railway station, the most economical and convenient way is to take the Delhi Metro Expressway metro line, which will drop you directly at New Delhi Railway Station.
To reach ISBT Kashmiri Gate, you need to change over to the yellow line (Samayapur Badli side), which will drop you directly to Kashmiri Gate.
By Train
Although Rishikesh has its own railway station with the name of "Yog N Rishikesh", there are very few direct trains from major cities of India. But another railway station, which is Haridwar Jn, located at a distance of 30 km from Rishikesh, is well connected to all the major cities.
If you are coming from New Delhi, then here are a few suggested trains which you can consider while planning your trip.
Kota Ddn Ac Exp (12401) - Departs from H Nizamuddin at 11:50 PM and reaches Haridwar Jn at 3:57 AM, so you can reach Rishikesh Nepali farm on time.
Ddn Shtbdi Exp (12017) - Departs from New Delhi at 6:45 AM and reaches Haridwar Jn at 11:35 AM. This train will be beneficial if you are planning to reach Rishikesh one day before your trek. It's highly recommended so that you can take proper rest before starting your journey with us.
Ddn Janshtbdi (12055) - Departs from New Delhi at 3:20 PM and reaches Haridwar Jn at 7:33 PM. It is also a good option to take this train one day before your journey date so that you can have a proper rest.
Note:-
Book your return ticket after 9:00PM if you are taking flight or train from Rishikesh, Dehradun or Haridwar.
If you are taking overnight journey to Delhi and then flight to your hometown, then it's recommended to take your return flight after 11:00 AM.
It's recommended to keep buffer day while returning so that return plan can be safegaurded from any unforseen delays in mountain.
