Temples open: 19th April 2026 – 25th April 2026 | Best travel: Apr–Jun, Sep–Nov | Avoid Jul–Aug monsoon season.
All four major temples, Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath are located in the lap of the Himalaya at higher altitudes. Due to extreme climatic condition it gets fully covered in snow during the winter season, making it inaccessible for devotees to visit here.
So this temple opens just for six months in a year from late April to mid of November. Currently, these temples are closed and expected to open between 19th April 2026 and 25th April 2026. For the exact opening and closing dates of Char Dham temples, you can refer to our blog.
You can book your package for any time between the last week of April to first week of November. Avoid July and August as this is the rainy season in this area, which brings problems like floods, thunderstorms, landslides, road blockage, slippery trekking trails, inconsistent helicopter operation, etc.
If you are planning to travel this year with your family or group consisting of elderly people or kids, then prefer to book for the month of April, May or June as this is the most pleasant time to visit here. But if you are willing to visit here during the less crowded time or want to experience the snowfall, then prefer to book your package for September to the mid of November.

Panch Prayag– During chardham yatra we cover all the panch prayags including Vishnuprayag, Nandprayag, Karanprayag, Rudraprayag, and Devprayag.
Chopta-Tungnath– It is also known as the Mini Switzerland of India because of its eternal beauty. This is the base for a 3.5 km trek to the highest Shiva Temple, which is Tungnath Temple, and Chandrashila means Moon Rock, which is located above Tungnath Temple within 1.5Km at an altitude of 4000 meters.
Uttarkashi– The North of Kashi, which is a beautiful town, located on the bank of the sacred river Bagirathi, Known for its spiritual significance and natural charm. A religious town home to the many ancient temples, including Kashi Vishawanath Temple, Uttarkashi, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is also a hub for trekking and river rafting. On the way to Gangotri temple we are also going to pass through Harsil valley which is a well known for apple orchard. If time allows we will also visit to Gartang gali.
Tapt Kund– A natural hot spring at the entrance of Badrinath temple for pilgrims to take the holy dip. The water of Tapt Kund remains naturally hot throughout the year, even in freezing Himalayan temperatures. It is said to have Medical properties. Legends hold that the hot spring is blessed by the Agni Devta, the God of Fire, which explains its warmth.
Mana Village– The "First Village of India" near the Indo-China border is Mana village, known for mythological sites like Vyas Gufa and Bheem Pul. situated at a distance of 3 Km from the town of Badrinath at an altitude of 3200 meters.
Surya Kund– The natural hot water spring dedicated to the God of the Sun. The water in this spring is extremely hot, and often pilgrims cook rice and potatoes in this natural hot spring, which they offer later to the deity as prasad near the Yamunotri Dham. Surya Kund adds to the divine charm of the Yamunotri pilgrimage.
Gaurikund– It is the divine place that signifies the eternal flame of Goddess Parvati, and legend holds that Goddess Parvati did intense penance for Lord Shiva here. Ancient texts hold that taking a dip in this hot water spring purifies the soul and sins. Pilgrims take holy dips in the hot spring of Gaurikund before beginning their Kedarnath Trek.
Shankaracharya Samadhi– The final resting place of Adi Shankaracharya, the great 8th-century philosopher and saint, is located near the Kedarnath temple. The samadhi is the significance of devotion, wisdom, dignity, and enlightenment, reminding pilgrims of his contribution to Hindu philosophy.
We will also visit to Bharionath temple at Kedarnath as it is believed that yatra remains incomplete without the visit to this temple and it is located very close to Sankaracharya Samadhi. If you have time you can also inlude visit to Vasuki Tal or Chorabari lake.
