Traveller Tips & Safety Guidelines
It’s a very long journey to travel to Char Dham temples from Hyderabad, plus, as we are from a plain region and have never seen extreme climate as in the Himalaya, we need to be super careful while travelling to these holy temples. Here are some traveller tips and safety guidelines which you need to follow to make your journey exciting and safe.
Take some generic medicines and consult your doctor if you have any pre-existing conditions before planning your trip.
Carry first-aid and essential medicines for headache, fever and digestion.
Avoid travelling with kids under 8 because of the high altitude and uncertain weather.
Don’t forget to book your accommodation, transportation and helicopter services in advance.
Carry heavy woollen clothes, gloves and trekking shoes.
Never trek alone; prefer to come in groups for a better experience with safety.
Take a first-aid kit and a raincoat, due to the chance of rainfall.
Stay hydrated and avoid overexertion to maintain health for trekking.
Less mobile connectivity at high altitudes at Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Register on Char Dham Yatra 2026 for a safer journey.
Best time to visit Char Dham Temples from Hyderabad
Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath temples are located at higher altitudes inthe Himalayan region. During the winter season, all of these temples got completely covered in snow, making them inaccessible for the devotees to reach.
Due to this reason, the Chardham yatra remains suspended for almost six months in a year. Temple opens in the months of late April or early May and closes in late October and early November. This year, all these temples are expected to open between the 20th and 25th of April and will close in the mid of November.
You can book your package anytime during this duration. Just avoid July and August as this is the rainy season in this region. It causes the danger of landslides, road blockage, floods, stone shooting, etc.
If you are travelling with kids or elderly people, we would suggest you book your package for April, May or June as this is the most favourable time to visit here. But if you are a backpacker or someone looking for a pilgrimage in peace and lesser croud then you should plan your trip in the month of September, October or November. Give us a call and one of our representatives will suggest the best month for your group.
