Pandavas searched for Lord Shiva to seek forgiveness. Shiva hid in the Himalayas and appeared in different forms at Panch Kedar. At Tungnath, his arms are believed to have appeared.
During summer, Chopta turns into a carpet of green grass and colourful flowers. In winter, the entire region becomes white with snow, making it look like a Himalayan Switzerland.
Above Tungnath lies Chandrashila, a summit linked with Lord Rama and panoramic Himalayan views.
